MARTIN MATA
Chairman of the Board of Directors
Martin Mata has 30 years of experience in public and private sector management, strategic planning, advanced economic, market and investment analysis, policy analysis and human resource development. He joined the Albanian-American Enterprise Fund in 2000 and became Co-Executive Director in 2010. His previous experience includes positions as General Manager of Mercedes-Benz Albania, Political Advisor to the Prime Minister of Albania, Political Advisor at the United States Embassy in Tirana and Director of Public Relations at the National Privatization Agency. He holds a BA in History and English and an MBA from a joint program of the University of Nebraska and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tirana. He has been the Co-Executive Director of AADF since 2013. In 2015, Mr. Mata received the Title “For Special Civil Merits” from the President of the Republic of Albania.
ALEKSANDER SARAPULI

Aleksandër Sarapuli has 30 years of experience in management and consulting in private equity investments, project financing and management, economic and financial feasibility analysis, technology and goods procurement and marketing. He has worked at the Albanian-American Enterprise Fund since 1996 and became Co-Executive Director in 2010. His previous experiences include positions as co-founder and head of the Business Advisory Unit (BAU), business advisor at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Albania, and procurement and marketing manager in several private companies. He holds a degree in economics from the Faculty of Economics in Tirana. Mr. Sarapuli has participated in many intensive training programs on topics such as private equity investments, finance, management and others. He has been the Co-Executive Director of AADF since 2013. In 2015, Mr. Sarapuli received the Title “For Special Civil Merits” from the President of the Republic of Albania.
ELVIN GURI
Vice-President/Chairman of the Board of Directors
Elvin Guri is an investor and entrepreneur with more than 15 years of successful track record in banking and private equity in Europe. As an investor and advisor, Elvin has been involved in deals in the financial institutions sector (Czech Republic, Ukraine, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Albania, Macedonia), in technology and biotechnology (Switzerland, Bulgaria), in healthcare and food industry (Bulgaria), and in real estate sector (USA). Mr. Guri is one of the 2 founders of JetFinance International, the largest consumer finance lender in SEE. JetFinance was sold to BNP Paribas Personal Finance in July 2007. Mr. Guri owns 49% of the shares of the mobile phone operator Telekom Albania, after the acquisition in 2019, through the company Albania Telekom Invest AD. He has held various roles in prestigious organizations such as PWC and EBRD. Elvin holds an Executive Master of Business Administration from Oxford University. Elvin supports several educational initiatives in Bulgaria and Albania, including AUBG, Teaching for Bulgaria (""Zaedno v Chas"") and Junior Achievement.
ZAMIRA GJINI

Director of the Directorate of Pre-University Education at the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth. Ms. Gjini has been a member of the JAA board since 2017.
ADRIANA BERBERI

Ms. Adriana Berberi has nearly 40 years of experience in key positions in the public and private sectors in Albania. Ms. Berberi completed her university studies at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tirana, Finance - Accounting department and holds the title of Master of Science in “European Studies” from the University of Tirana. Her professional beginnings began in the banking sector, as an investment expert at the Bank of Albania. In the years 1991 -1997, specialist in the Budget Directorate, Ministry of Finance and then, Deputy Minister of Finance and Deputy Minister of Economy. Ms. Berberi was Director of the Prime Minister's Cabinet in 2002. Ms. Berberi also has extensive experience in the field of teaching, where as an external lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, University of Tirana in the subjects: Analysis of the economic activity of enterprises and Basics of Economics. In 2008-2013, she was the head of the subjects “Public Finance” and “Fiscality”, as well as in the capacity of Delegated Administrator at the Higher Educational Institution “Marin Barleti University”. For the period 2013-2017, she served as the Director of the Cabinet of the Minister of Education and Sports. In her professional experience, Ms. Berberi has represented the Albanian state in various financial institutions, holding the position of Deputy Governor of Albania at the EBRD, Vice President and President of the Board at the Black Sea Development Bank for the period 1997-2005. In the period 2013-2017, she was the Chairperson of the Public Oversight Board and is currently a member of this board. Ms. Adriana Berberi has been the President of the Competition Authority of the Republic of Albania since 2018, elected by the Albanian Parliament. She holds the license of Certified Public Accountant and Statutory Auditor.
