Funding for Coding Projects within the Framework of EU Code Week – €2,500
Application Deadline: December 31, 2025
To encourage the implementation of new, innovative coding projects and the expansion of existing initiatives aligned with the goals of EU Code Week, the Code4Europe Consortium has launched a funding opportunity for grassroots projects.
Within this framework, Junior Achievement Albania (JAA), acting as the regional Code Week Hub for Albania, Montenegro, Serbia, and North Macedonia, invites applications for funding to support initiatives in the fields of digital education, coding, and computational thinking.
A selected project will receive funding of €2,500.
EU Code Week is funded by the European Union.
Goals
The purpose of this call is to identify and support grassroots coding projects that advance the mission of EU Code Week — promoting coding, computational thinking, and digital skills across Europe.
Objectives
Foster the development of innovative and scalable coding activities.
Support initiatives that integrate coding into education and increase learner engagement.
Strengthen community involvement and cooperation between local stakeholders.
Prioritize projects that reduce the gender gap and promote diversity in STEM education.
Funding Details
Each selected project will receive €2,500, awarded based on the quality of applications according to the following criteria:
Clarity and comprehensibility of the project proposal
Feasibility and implementation plan
Expected impact
Alignment with EU Code Week objectives
Who Can Apply
Eligible applicants must be organizations based in Albania, Serbia, North Macedonia, or Montenegro.
Examples include:
Schools (via school support associations)
Private organizations and coding clubs
Libraries and public institutions (via associations or non-profits)
Extracurricular learning centers and associations in digital education
Organizations promoting technology, coding, and algorithmic thinking
Eligible Activities
Funding may be used for:
Licenses for online learning tools
Learning materials and hardware for participants
Communication and outreach (flyers, online marketing, etc.)
Technical or professional support for online events
Venue rent and necessary infrastructure
Development and piloting of innovative coding or digital skills projects
Expansion of existing initiatives to new schools or regions
Community engagement activities promoting digital education
Initiatives promoting programming in schools or among underrepresented groups (e.g., girls in STEM)
Robotics or coding workshops
Educational resources for digital literacy
Hackathons, coding challenges, or digital skills events
Establishing or expanding local STEM clubs
Teacher training on digital tools
Peer-to-peer learning or mentoring programs in coding/STEM
Exclusion Criteria
Funding will not be provided for:
Projects not implemented in Albania, Serbia, Montenegro, or North Macedonia
Political or religious initiatives
Projects benefiting individuals only
Projects unrelated to EU Code Week objectives
Activities that do not serve the public good
Application Process
Interested organizations are invited to submit a proposal by December 31, 2025, to

Each application must include:
A project description outlining objectives and expected impact
Implementation plan with timeline and resources
Information on the applicant organization and relevant experience
Budget plan for the proposed activities

Evaluation and Selection
Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of Code Week stakeholders (e.g., ambassadors, leading teachers, education coordinators) and representatives of the Code Week Hub.

Timeline
Call opens: October 20, 2025
Application deadline: December 31, 2025
Notification of selected projects: January 16, 2026
Project implementation period: January 19 – 30 April, 2026
Report and proof of fund use: Within 30 days after project completion
Payment Terms
Following the signature of the funding agreement:
70% of the grant amount will be transferred as pre-financing to initiate project implementation.
The remaining 30% will be paid upon submission and approval of the final report and proof of fund use.
