Students from Harry Fultz Institute represented Albania at the World Schools Debate Academy (WSDA) 2026, held from 20 to 27 June 2026 in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.
Throughout an intensive week, the students participated in training sessions, workshops, and practice debate rounds, working with international trainers and debating with participants from different countries. The programme focused on the World Schools Debate format, providing participants with the opportunity to further develop their argumentation, critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork skills.
The Albanian team delivered an excellent performance throughout the tournament, successfully progressing through the competition and reaching the WSDA 2026 final. At the conclusion of the tournament, the students from Harry Fultz Institute finished in second place, marking an important achievement for Albania at this international debate event.
Beyond the competitive component, WSDA provided students with a comprehensive learning and intercultural experience, creating opportunities to exchange ideas and experiences with young people from different countries.
Alongside the student programme, WSDA 2026 also included a dedicated programme for teachers, trainers, and youth workers, focusing on developing coaching and adjudication skills, as well as using debate as a method to foster critical thinking and youth engagement.
The participation and achievement of the Albanian team at WSDA 2026 represents an important result for young Albanian debaters and an opportunity to further develop their skills, exchange experiences, and represent Albania in an international debate environment.
