The Prague Debate Spring 2025 took place from 9–15 July, bringing together young people from different countries of Europe for four days of debates. The event combines competition with learning, providing a platform for debaters to develop their skills while fostering connections and friendships among participants.
This year, Ismail Qemali High School, Tirana proudly represented Albania. The team took part in both the IDEA Youth Forum and the Prague Debate Spring tournament. Building on experiences from previous editions, we collaborated with the organizers to encourage forum participants to bring their newly gained knowledge and confidence into the competitive rounds.
With 160 participants, 43 teams, and 50 adjudicators, the event was carefully structured to ensure fairness, inclusivity, and learning opportunities at every stage. The partnership with the Czech Debate Association created an environment where students could grow as debaters and engage with peers from the wider European community.
This experience highlights the value of debate as a tool for learning and connection, inspiring young Albanians to grow as confident voices in Europe’s future.
