From 24 to 29 August 2026, the IDEA Debate Exchange 2026 took place in Brno, Czech Republic, organized by the international network International Debate Education Association (IDEA). The event brought together young people, trainers, volunteers, and representatives of debate organizations from different European countries through a programme focused on collaboration, exchange of experiences, and the further development of debate education.
In this edition, Albania was represented by student debaters from the University “Ismail Qemali” of Vlora, participating as part of the Debating Economics programme implemented by Junior Achievement of Albania. Their participation followed their engagement in national debate activities organized throughout the academic year.
During the event, participants took part in workshops and participant-led sessions, sharing experiences and practices from their respective debate communities. The programme addressed topics related to debate methodology, training and coaching approaches, youth work, as well as the development and sustainability of debate organizations.
For the Albanian students, IDEA Debate Exchange 2026 provided an opportunity to further develop their skills, exchange experiences, and connect with the international debate community.
Participation in this event is part of the opportunities that the Debating Economics programme provides to young Albanians, supporting the development of critical thinking, argumentative communication, and debate skills, while also providing access to international experiences and exchanges.
