Junior Achievement organisations from Romania, Cyprus, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Albania, Montenegro, and Serbia came together in Cyprus for the first consortium meeting of the YSBE Net Project (Youth Social Business & Entrepreneurship Network), an Erasmus+ initiative supporting social entrepreneurship education and capacity building for organisations working with young people.
Over the course of the two-day meeting, partners collaborated closely to shape the practical implementation of the project. Through coordination sessions and capacity-building activities, they reviewed the project structure, clarified roles and responsibilities, and explored how planned activities — such as training initiatives and international Trade Fairs — can best support young people interested in social entrepreneurship.
The programme also included participation in a conference and workshop sessions, in Nicosia, on Social Entrepreneurship, bringing together teachers and members of the Junior Achievement network. These sessions offered valuable opportunities to explore how entrepreneurship education can contribute to social impact, community development, and youth engagement, while encouraging the exchange of ideas, approaches, and good practices.
By strengthening cooperation and sharing knowledge across borders, the YSBE Net project aims to support organisations working with young people and contribute to the development of social entrepreneurship skills and initiatives across Europe.
In the coming period, a range of educational activities will be implemented both in Romania and in the partner countries, targeting teachers, youth workers, and high school students interested in social entrepreneurship. These activities will include a social entrepreneurship course for high school students, as well as training programmes for teachers and youth workers, supporting the integration of social entrepreneurship into educational practice.
Participants will also have the opportunity to take part in an online hackathon, focused on identifying innovative solutions to real social challenges, as well as in two international Trade Fairs, one hosted in Bulgaria and the other in Cyprus, where young people will be able to present their ideas, exchange experiences, and interact with peers and experts from different countries.
