On June 1st and 2nd, Piramida Tirana was transformed into JAA BizTown — a fully functioning miniature city run by 40 enthusiastic “citizens” aged 10–14 from 5 schools in Tirana, Sabaudin Gabrani, Skender Caci, Edith Durham, Vasil Shanto, Jeronim De Rada.
Participants took on key roles such as:
🏦 Bankers | 📮 Postal workers | 🏙 Urban planners | ✈️ Travel agents | 💼 Employment officers
🏗 Construction managers | 🛡 Insurance agents | 🏠 Real estate agents | 📺 Media staff | 📱 Telecom operators
They also operated with real businesses — the startups originated from JAA’a startup supporting program, Switch Technologies and Pigi.app — offered their stands and services to make possible for the young citizens to experience firsthand how technology and entrepreneurship work in practice.
BizTown taught participants teamwork, financial literacy, decision-making, and communication skills — leaving them inspired and confident.
Ms. Bora Muzhaqi, Minister of State for Youth and Children, joined the BizzTown experience by experiencing the services provided from the little bankers, insurance agents, employments or travel agents or relators and municipal servant for the day.
This was the pilot phase of BizzTown, an activity that will scale in many other cities during the new school year, giving this practical learning opportunity to as many as little citizens to be educated and practice active citizenship.
